Changing colors on a Tri Loom

Always change color on the same side of the loom. This helps to keep your pattern balanced.
The yarn left when you tie off the change can be left long enough to become part of the fringe.
It can also be cut short and covered with a crochet or knit edging or it can be woven back into the shawl.
To start: weave up to where you want to change the color.

Pull the yarn down to measure the length you want it to be including fringe and cut.

Tie the new color yarn onto the first color yarn .

Weave down and pull both yarns through

Untie your temporary knot and tie both yarns with a pernanent knot snug under the nail.
The ends can be left long to become part of the fringe or they could be woven back in to the shawl or covered with a crochet or knitted edging.
Do not use fray check or any type of glue to help secure the knots. That turns them into nasty hard bumps.

The new color is now your continous weaving yarn. Carry it across to the other side of the loom and weave as normal.

Bring the new color back to the side you changed color on.
This will even out the pattern.
Continue weaving as normal until you are ready to change color again.
Then bring the yarn back to the same side you changed colors on before and repeat the color change.
