   house  chickens yard
Our small  Missouri Ozark farm is surrounded by larger cattle/hay farms.
It  started as a rough pasture with a seasonal creek running across it. There are about 30 acres of woods in the back and the front 10 acres are divided into four pastures and two paddocks that surround the house and yard.  All of it is covered it seems with rocks that we are slowly clearing from pastures and using in walls and flower beds.
We designed and hand built the house and outbuildings. There are now 3 barns, a workshop and a round metal storage shed. We still have plans for a small green house, a patio on the east side of the house and possibly a small one room building beside the dock on the one acre pond we had built outside the pastures and above the spring.
The yard contains a vegetable garden, flower beds and paths.
We are kept company by two small useless ponies, five brush eating goats, a hyper dog and a mixed flock of chickens.
I'm a Fiber Artist with one published book on Tri Loom Weaving. Bruce is also a writer. We make many of the things we use including most of my fiber equipment. We heat with two wood stoves, do not use a tractor and try to live simply.
Life is a journey of continual learning.  This site contains some of the things I've learned.
May your personal journey be one of contentment.
